How to Configure Sharing Recognitions on Social Media
Enable or disable the Share button on recognitions so employees can post them to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms.
Who can use this feature
Available on the Starter plan and above.
Requires the Super Admin admin permission.
Who this is for
Admins who want to control whether employees can share recognitions outside PraisePal β for example, posting them on LinkedIn or Twitter to showcase your team's culture.
What you'll achieve
You'll know how to turn social sharing on or off for your workspace, what employees see when it's enabled, and what happens to links that were already shared.
Before you begin
You have Super Admin permissions
Your workspace is on the Starter plan or above
Sharing is on by default for all workspaces. Free-plan workspaces have sharing enabled but cannot change the setting β the toggle becomes available on the Starter plan and above.
Steps
Go to Admin settings β Programs β Recognition β Recognition Rules.
Find the Enable Sharing toggle. It controls whether the Share button appears on recognitions across the workspace.
Toggle sharing on or off depending on your preference, then save. The change takes effect immediately β employees will see the Share button appear or disappear the next time they load the feed.
That's it. There are no additional settings to configure β sharing is a single workspace-wide toggle.
What to expect after
When sharing is enabled, every recognition in the feed shows a Share button. Clicking it opens a dialog where employees can:
Copy a link to paste anywhere
Share directly to LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter (desktop) or use their phone's native share sheet (mobile)
Download the preview image as a PNG for platforms that don't display link previews well
The shared link leads to a public page that shows a branded preview card β your workspace name and logo, the recipient and sender names, the recognition message, and a points badge if points were included. Visitors don't need a PraisePal account to view it.
Two types of posts are never sharable regardless of the toggle:
Celebrations (birthdays and work anniversaries) β the Share button doesn't appear on these.
Private recognitions β the Share button may appear, but the public preview shows a generic fallback instead of the recognition details.
Previously shared links remain accessible. Turning sharing off hides the Share button so employees can't create new shares, but links that were already posted continue to work. If you need a specific recognition removed from public view, contact support.

Pro tips
Upload your logo first. The share preview card prominently features your workspace logo. Setting it before enabling sharing means every shared recognition looks polished from the start.
Pair with the employee article. If you're rolling out sharing, point employees to the "How to Share a Recognition on Social Media" article so they know their options β linked below.
